Why Sand Art?

Updated: Sep 1, 2023

Sand Art (also known as Sand Painting) is one of the early form of art in India. It is valued among the Indians for religious activities rather than aesthetic reasons like in abroad. It's main function is in connection with healing ceremonies.

Also India is called as the motherland and it is the only country where agriculture is the main source of food. Hence, we do respect our sand a lot.

Whether to call it as a physical art (Sand Castles and Sand Sculptures) or digital art (Sand Animation), it is one of the popular method to use for beautificatification of cities, representing various life stories of older generations, brand promotions and many other reasons.

In the early childhood, almost every child has played with Sand in India as it helps to explore the creativity along with it's benefit associated with sensory activities and sensory play.

Here are some of the reasons why Sand Art should be used much more than it is used today.

  • This art form is Eco friendly as it uses materials that are available in nature, i.e. Sand & Water. It is the natural source of art which doesn't harm anyone. Also we should not forget that it has lot of healing and meditative benefits.

  • Raw materials used in creating Sand Art can be reused. This art form follows the RRR concept – Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.

  • India is called as land of Sand and when we create the natural art from that source it helps in promoting art & craftsmanship through sand.

  • Sand Art helps in creating awareness about cultures, social issues and also helps in brand promotion. Over 22 years of experience we have made various sand art showing social issues like medical issues - cancer, aids; environmental issues - water pollution, plastic pollution, etc. We have also helped brands like Havmor, TVS, Tech Mahindra, etc in promoting their businesses. Not only this we have helped promotion of television serials like 'Lokmanya' and bolywood movies like 'Bhoot'.

  • Sand art helps in remembering the inspirational stories of freedom fighters and national figures. We have created multiple sand art on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Independence Day, Republic Day, Merger day of Daman and Diu, etc. Not only this, our sand art has been featured in various malls of Delhi and Mumbai.

  • Sand Art helps in depicting world famous monuments, beautifies smart cities which promotes tourism. To name a few, we have worked with Lakshwadeep tourism, Goa tourism, Maldives tourism, Karnataka tourism, etc.

  • Sand Animation (digital form of Sand Art) can be used as gifting purpose and it make someone's day special. We have presented our digital art, i.e. sand animation on occasions like birthday, wedding and engagement ceremonies, etc.
